Work Arrangements: Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position will require full-time physical presence at the NRC work location identified.
We are looking for a Surface Modelling Technician to support our Design and Fabrication Services Branch (DFS). The Surface Modelling Technician would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect, and Creativity.
The Surface Modelling Technician provides DFS with basic 3D digitization services using 3D Scanners and assists in the preparation of various Advanced Technology Group (ATG) projects, including but not limited to, Reverse Engineering modelling, 3D additive manufacturing, Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality modelling.
Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:
College Diploma in a Mechanical Engineering field (minimum of a three-year program) or a combination of formal relevant training and significant experience may also be accepted.
Asset:
*Basic experience is defined as a few months and up to 2 years
A Secret clearance must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:
*Basic - the level of knowledge may be acquired through relatively brief (six months or less) training or through regular exposure
