Alberta Infrastructure is responsible for delivering about one quarter of the Alberta government’s Capital Plan, which addresses the provincial infrastructure needs of Alberta’s population that support key social programs and services and economic development.
The Ministry designs, builds, manages, and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that school and hospital infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. Infrastructure also provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans.

Reporting to the Director, Acquisitions, Sales and Development the Surface Land Specialist provides specialized and technical documentation services on behalf of the Realty Branch (RB). RB is transaction oriented with an emphasis on legal forms of agreement of varying types and complexities that are ultimately required for the acquisition, sale and development of provincial Crown land, establishment and ongoing operations and maintenance for the Edmonton and Calgary Transportation Utility Corridors (TUC), significant development of lands for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (Parsons Creek at Fort McMurray).
The Surface Land Specialist identifies and evaluates technical issues and is expected to make decisions regarding the form of documentation within the parameters of the Province’s land use policies. This also requires a solid understanding of the Alberta Land Titles system and its associated procedures and statutory documentation.
The Surface Land Specialist will also assist Property Agents in due diligence of sales and acquisitions files.
