Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in Developmental Services Worker (DSW) or Personal Support Worker (PSW), or equivalent Human Services program.
• Minimum two years of related experience providing behaviour intervention support.
• Reliable with a demonstrated commitment to being a dependable member of a team.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the team, and independently as necessary; strong boundary management.
• Multilingualism and diverse lived experiences are assets.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with developmental disabilities in an assisted-living setting, providing 24/7 support to develop daily living skills and community engagement.
• Collaborate with the team to implement care plans that support involvement in person-centered programs that ensure the daily needs of participants are met (medical, personal, physical, financial, hygienic, social, recreational, emotional, developmental).
• Provide a safe and supportive environment for participants requiring varying levels of behavioral interventions; de-escalate crises and make sound decisions.
• Work with diverse groups and demonstrate commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice.
