Job summary

Carecor Health Services Ltd. is seeking compassionate Developmental Services Workers to support individuals with developmental disabilities in the Greater Toronto Area.

This casual role offers flexible scheduling and a chance to make a meaningful difference in daily living, community participation, and independence. You will provide person-centered care, assist with ADLs, maintain documentation, and collaborate with a team to meet client needs while following safety and health guidelines.

Qualifications

• DSW diploma preferred; related education in Human Services, Social Services, Child and Youth Care, or similar will be considered.
• Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or complex needs in various settings.
• Ability to implement behaviour support plans and assist with medication/health routines.
• Willingness to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered care and support to individuals with diverse needs.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal care, mobility, nutrition, and daily routines.
• Promote independence, safety, dignity, and overall well-being in home and community settings.

Key Responsibilities

Candidates must have experience providing direct support services, including but not limited to:

• Provide person-centered care and support to individuals with diverse needs.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, dressing, grooming, feeding, nutrition, and mobility.
• Promote independence, safety, dignity, and overall well-being in home and community-based settings.
• Implement individualized support plans and assist with daily routines.
• Maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality of client information.
• Follow organizational policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements.
• Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement initiatives, and other duties as assigned.

• Developmental Services Worker (DSW) diploma preferred; related education in Human Services, Social Services, Child and Youth Care, or a similar field will be considered.
• Experience supporting children, youth, or adults with developmental disabilities, autism, dual diagnoses, or complex needs in residential, community, or supported living settings.
• Experience assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, mobility, nutrition, and community participation.
• Ability to implement behaviour support plans and assist with medication support and health-related routines.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification; CPI/Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training required or considered an asset.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Willingness to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment.
• Demonstrated commitment to person-centered care, professionalism, confidentiality, and safety.
