Job description

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Administrator or Assistant Administrator, the Support Services Team Lead is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the Environmental Services, ensuring a safe, clean, secure, and well-maintained home environment for Residents, Family Members, Visitors, and Staff, in compliance with relevant legislations, standards, and guidelines as reflected in the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021.

Main Duties

  1. Monitor and evaluate that Environmental Services meet the Program and Services goals and objectives.
  2. Plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of all operational activities within the housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance departments.
  3. Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, inspections, and investigations related to housekeeping and laundry.
  4. Collaborate with service providers regarding budgets, purchases, or replacement of supplies and equipment approved under Mon Sheong inventory list.
  5. Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee, Emergency Plan, and Fire Prevention Programs.
  6. Maintain knowledge of the Fixing Long Term Care Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other relevant standards and regulations at federal, provincial, and municipal levels affecting Long Term Care operations.
  7. Ensure adherence to Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) protocols, including cleaning processes, laundry handling, PPE use, hand hygiene, especially during outbreaks or with residents with communicable diseases.
  8. Monitor employee productivity and implement processes to enhance service or productivity.

Others: To undertake any other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices related to housekeeping, laundry, waste management, and maintenance.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Experience with Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) protocols relevant to Environmental Services.
  • Experience working with Service Providers is an asset.
