Job summary

Greenstone Gold Mines in Geraldton, Ontario, is hiring a Support Loader and Wheeled Dozer Operator to safely and efficiently operate the loader and wheeled dozer on site.

Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, you will monitor gauges, perform risk assessments, maintain fluids and housekeeping, and help build pads, roads and drill prep patterns.

Valid driver’s license and Heavy Equipment Operator training are required, with Ontario Surface Common Core training considered an asset.

Job description

The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with five operating mines in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Nicaragua.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Support Loader and Wheeled Dozer Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Support Loader and Wheeled Dozer Operator is responsible for safely and productively operating tracked Dozers varying in operating weight.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the support loader and wheeled dozer in a safe and efficient way in accordance with all relevant legislation, company policies and procedures.
• Monitor gauges, and other indicators to ensure the dozer is working properly, report discrepancies to dispatch.
• Perform field level risk assessments.
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping as well as lubricating and refilling all fluids as required.
• Use two-way-radio, horn, and light signals to communicate with other operators and ensure safety.
• Use the dozer according to operating practices to push and place materials such as overburden, sand, gravel, blasted rock, and snow. Build pads, build roads, prep drill patterns, rip & maintain pit floors, support loading units as well as perform shovel clean ups.

Required Experience and Skill Set

• 2+ years of experience operating a support loader and wheeled dozer at a mine site.
