Job summary

The Durham District School Board is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide technical support across Elementary and Secondary Schools, the Education Centre and Maintenance Centre. You will assist with hardware and software, including desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, interactive whiteboards, projectors, and other devices.

The role is a casual/supply position with no guaranteed hours; on-site presence may be required when opportunities arise.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years post-secondary in a technical program.
• A+ Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and daily access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Elementary Schools, Secondary Schools, Education Centre and Maintenance Centre.
• Support applications and hardware including desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, mobile devices, interactive whiteboards, projectors and specialized technologies.
• In collaboration with the IT Network and Security team, resolve connectivity and networking issues.
• Provide technical support for teaching staff in their use of technology as a part of their professional practices (i.e. Data projectors, network access, Report Card and progress reports).
