Job summary

Imperial is seeking a results‑driven Supply Network Business Development Advisor for Refined Products to optimize the terminal network and lead strategic/logistic negotiations with Canadian refiners, marketers, and midstream participants. The role requires strong commercial acumen and proven deal‑making skills across upstream and downstream logistics.

You will independently execute complex agreements, manage risk, and coordinate internal stakeholders while driving value through supply

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of proven experience in a business development, commercial, or sales role, preferably within the oil & gas industry. Refined products experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, negotiate, and manage long term, strategic logistic relationships with counterparties that include Canadian refiners, marketers and midstream participants.
  • Develop commercial framework and lead complex negotiations to secure logistic and supply deals that manage risk and maximize value
  • Conduct economic evaluation, negotiation, internal stakeholder alignment, and approvals for new opportunities such as product exchanges, throughput agreements, terminalling and terminal network agreements, and rack purchase contracts to supply customers cost effectively and reliably consistent with company policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Designed principles based commercial strategies using strong understanding of Canadian marketplace product supply/demand balances, including import/export alternatives
  • Participate on cross functional teams supporting business strategy development and execution with mandated business development outcomes
  • Provide effective and practical commercial mentorship across organization. This includes challenging analytical opportunities to develop and support negotiation strategies
  • Ensure commercial deals competitively comply with low carbon fuels regulations
  • Support or lead the implementation of new initiatives/projects
  • Lead the development of Supply Network Plans and input to business strategies

What role you will play in our team

We are seeking a results-driven midstream business development professional to drive improvements in our proprietary and third party terminal network for the supply of refined products to Fuels value chain customers. Specifically, the ideal candidate has experience in refined products, midstream logistics, and commercial or sales experience .

The candidate should be equally able to independently execute complex agreements and lead negotiations to deliver value and manage risk. This position coordinates internal stakeholders, drives external engagement strategies, and plays a key role in implementing business and growth initiatives.

What you will do

About you

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of proven experience in a business development, commercial, or sales role, preferably within the oil & gas industry. Refined products experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Leadership and commercial skills (previous sales or commercial experience is a requirement)
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial principle and contract interpretation. Specific experience in buy/sell, exchange, terminalling and offtake deal types.
  • Direct experience/knowledge of downstream and midstream logistics and business line activities (e.g., production, refineries, pipelines, terminals, rail, marine) is preferred.
  • Strong teamwork, coordination and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills. Strong attention to details
  • Teamwork, proactive approach, autonomy, mentoring skills, and the ability to deal with a large number of time critical activities simultaneously are essential.
  • Strong analytical capability
