JOB SUMMARY:

This Senior Level position provides leadership and support for the supply chain activities at our Precision Manufacturing (PMI) site, which manufactures specialized tooling and process plant systems for the nuclear industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide guidance and leadership to the team regarding procurement activities, including:
• Support resolution of technical exceptions during supplier quote phases;
• Identify and develop new suppliers;
• Participate in resource planning, recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding with the Facility Manager (FM);
• Develop, review, and approve procurement work instructions and procedures;
• Lead team training and best practice initiatives;
• Assist with work assignment within the team;
• Manage supplier-specific long-term and scheduling agreements;
• Review and approve high-value purchase orders based on bid evaluations;
• Support and implement team goals, track performance, and conduct mid-year and annual reviews;
• Attend weekly leadership meetings, conduct bi-weekly team meetings, and approve weekly timecards;
• Ensure compliance with internal processes, industry standards, quality systems, policies, and contractual requirements;
• Proactively identify project risks, analyze solutions, and communicate issues to leadership as needed.

Procurement Specifics:

• Purchase assigned commodities and services;
• Review and analyze quotes for clarity and accuracy;
• Develop strategic procurement plans and new vendor relationships;

Contract Administration:

• Manage purchasing contracts, including revisions, schedule maintenance, warranties, and discrepancies;
• Lead complex negotiations with multi-functional teams.

Corrective Actions and Cost Reduction:

• Address supplier quality issues and claims;
• Develop rapport across departments to enhance supply chain effectiveness;
• Train and mentor procurement team members;
• Participate in cost-saving initiatives and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in engineering or technology, or at least 5 years of relevant technical experience;
• At least 7 years of procurement leadership experience;
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the nuclear industry;
• Knowledge of nuclear standards and codes (e.g., ASME, NQA-1, CSA, ISO 9001);
• Experience in reviewing technical documents and drawings;
• Understanding of manufacturing principles and supplier relationship management;
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and team leadership skills.

The salary range for this position in Ontario is expected to be between $89,000 and $139,000 annually, based on market factors and individual experience. The total compensation may include bonuses and benefits, which will be detailed upon offer.
