Job summary

Jobtailor in Ottawa is seeking an experienced leader to oversee extended operations across the product lifecycle, coordinating with engineering, capacity planning, and partners to ensure reliable, cost-efficient manufacturing. This role requires strong cross-functional leadership and strategic thinking.

You will drive supplier readiness, manage safety stocks, and monitor supplier performance with KPIs to minimize disruption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in operations or supply chain management in a global, multi-site environment.
• Expertise in supply planning, manufacturing operations, and supplier management.
• Experience supporting new product introduction and collaborating with product engineering teams.
• Working knowledge of telecommunications technologies and hardware-based product lifecycles.
• Ability to lead and influence cross-functional and virtual teams without direct authority.
• Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments.
• Experience with outsourced manufacturing and global contract manufacturers.
• Exposure to cost modeling, inventory optimization, and material liability management.
• Experience navigating supply chain disruptions and complex global logistics.
• Comfort working across time zones and supporting off-hours collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead extended operations teams across all product lifecycle phases, including R&D, NPI, sustaining, and end of life.
• Partner cross-functionally with product engineering, capacity planning, test engineering, and other stakeholders to improve yield, cost, and supply assurance.
• Define and execute global supply chain strategies that deliver cost-optimized, reliable products aligned with business and customer commitments.
• Drive contract manufacturers to achieve output plans by resolving constraints related to capacity, yield, quality, and Clear to Build readiness.
• Establish and manage safety stock strategies and escalated material risks to Global Commodity Management partners to mitigate supply disruptions.
• Generate manufacturing plans and ensure supplier readiness to support new product ramps and sustained volume production.
• Measure supplier performance through KPIs and lead mitigation strategies to minimize customer impact.
