Job summary

INNIO in Welland, Ontario, is seeking a Supplier Quality Intern to support the Quality and Supply Chain teams during a 4-month co-op term. You will perform supplier data updates, assist with parts qualification, and help streamline internal communications and reporting.

The role requires ongoing study in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering with prior manufacturing exposure and proficiency in MS Office. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to quality initiatives and learn ERP-based

Qualifications

• In progress of completing a degree in a related discipline such as Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience working within a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Update delivery data in internal ERP system regarding supplier information and internal products.
• Support external supplier communications and updates.
• Assist in resolving parts qualification from approved supply base.
• Review daily fulfillment of parts from supply base through expediting components for assembly, machining and service teams.
• Assist internal customers to receive, analyze and provide commitments regarding external parts quality.
• Develop ideas to streamline communications within the quality organization.
• Analyze stored data and create reports and spreadsheets.
• Serve as an internal customer liaison for inquiries on supply chain procedures across departments.
• Collaborate with team leaders and management to drive quality initiatives.
• Perform simple measurement and review of first piece samples from suppliers.
• Support Supplier Quality Engineers with daily tasks.

Job description

What are we looking for?

The Supplier Quality Intern will be a member of the Welland Quality Team and working closely to support our Quality and Supply Chain departments. This includes performing a variety of assignments to ensure the quality and availability of parts and/or products for our manufacturing plant, as well as our service customers.

Co-op Term: January 2027 - April 2027

Essential Responsibilities

• Updating delivery data in internal ERP system regarding supplier information and internal products
• Supporting external supplier communications and updates
• Assisting in the resolution of parts qualification from approved supply base
• Reviewing daily fulfillment of parts from supply base through expediting components, based on priority for assembly, machining and service teams
• Assisting with internal customers to receive, analyze and provide commitments regarding external parts quality.
• Developing ideas on streamlining communications (process improvements) within quality organization.
• Analyzing stored data, creating reports and spreadsheets
• Working as an Internal customer liaison for general inquiries on supply chain procedures for assembly, machining, warehouse departments
• Work with team leaders and management to drive quality initiatives
• Simple measurement and review of first piece samples from suppliers.
• Support Supplier Quality Engineers with daily tasks.

Qualifications/Requirements

• In process of completing degree in a related discipline, such as Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering
• Experience working within a manufacturing setting
