Job summary

INNIO is seeking a Quality Engineering / Digital Metrology Co-op in Canada to join the Quality team during the January–April 2027 period. The role focuses on connecting measurement gauges and inspection equipment digitally to Q-DAS, and supporting inspection planning and gauge validation.

You will work with Quality, Manufacturing, and Production teams to improve data flow, perform Gauge R&R studies, and support quality improvement initiatives while pursuing a relevant degree.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in a technical field related to manufacturing/quality.
• Interest in manufacturing, quality systems, automation, or digital data integration.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Familiarity with measurement equipment or inspection processes is an asset.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a Quality Engineering / Digital Metrology Co-op to join our Quality team and support production operations. This role is ideal for a student with a background in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field who is interested in manufacturing, quality systems, and digital integration.

A key focus of this position will be supporting projects that connect measurement gauges and inspection equipment digitally to Q-DAS, using a variety of software platforms, interfaces, and communication methods. The co-op will also support inspection planning, gauge validation, and general quality improvement activities.

Co-op Term: January 2027 – April 2027

Essential Responsibilities

• Support the integration of gauges and measurement devices with Q-DAS using various software tools, interfaces, and digital communication methods.
• Assist with digitizing and improving data collection from inspection equipment across production areas.
• Lead or support projects to verify the appropriate allocation and usage of gauges in operational cells.
• Work with Quality, Manufacturing, and Production teams to improve inspection processes and data flow.
• Perform Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gauge R&R) studies to assess measurement system variation and ensure inspection reliability.
• Assist in root cause analysis and problem-solving related to quality issues.

Your Profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Interest in manufacturing, quality systems, automation, or digital data integration.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Familiarity with measurement equipment, gauges, or inspection processes is an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of Q-DAS, Oracle, SAP, or other ERP / quality systems is considered an asset.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet timelines.
• Ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams.
