Reporting to the Director of Film and Creative Industries, and managed by Sector Development Officer, Creative Technology, the Supervisor Special Events (FCI) will be responsible for supervising a variety of events and activities in support of the creative industries, including:
1. Post-secondary education in event planning and creative industries or related discipline and/or equivalent combination of experience.
2. Considerable program / project and event management experience as it relates to creative industries, including exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, creative approach to event planning, experience developing program scope documents, critical paths, briefing notes, presentations, stakeholder reports, grant submissions, and gathering metrics data for inclusion in final reports.
3. Considerable experience working in a multi-level stakeholder environment and establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with clients including various levels of government, industry organizations, community groups, agencies and businesses.
5. Excellent partnership development and stewardship skills with key stakeholders within both private and public sectors.
6. Strong communication and customer service skills and ability to effectively support all stakeholders, including elected officials, other staff, key contacts, clients' diverse interest groups and the public.
7. Flexibility and the ability to take initiative and thrive in a high-stress environment with frequent and competing deadlines.
8. Ability to lead, motivate and supervise a team, when required.
9. Highly developed MS Office Suite skills, in particular Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
10. Familiarity with relevant government legislation, such as in the area of occupational health and safety, labour relations and collective agreements.
11. Experience establishing performance objectives and measures to continuously improve performance and the standard of excellence in the organization.
12.Ability to support the Toronto Public Service values to ensure a culture that champions equity, diversity and respectful workplaces.
