Job summary

Thermon is seeking a Supervisor, Production to oversee the daily Control Panel Shop operations in Calgary, Alberta. You will lead the panel shop, coordinate with purchasing and Engineering, ensure safety, monitor quality, and manage documentation, overtime and staffing.

Candidates should have five or more years in a Control Panel Shop and at least two years in a supervisory role; Electrical Journeyman is an advantage, with strong MS Office skills for daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum five years' experience in a Control Panel Shop environment.
• Minimum two years' experience as a supervisor.
• Electrical Journeyman certification is an advantage.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Demonstrated ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
• Good organizational skills and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and distribute work in the panel shop.
• Coordinate with purchasing on component requirements when necessary.
• Coordinate with Engineering when changes are required.
• Monitor and improve workflow on a continual basis.
• Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing company standards and inspections.
• Monitor quality of products and train staff on changes/improvements.
• Schedule control panel testing with Testing/Quality.
• Ensure production paperwork is monitored, controlled and completed.
• Be available for overtime during weeks and weekends.
• Coordinate with production and planning for efficient timelines.
• Supervise performance of Panel Shop staff; prepare training plans.
• Provide orientation and training to ensure an effective workforce.
• Conduct tailgate meetings; maintain clean, organized work area; promote teamwork.

The Role

The Supervisor, Production will be responsible for overseeing the daily Control Panel Shop operation.

What You Will Do

• Review and distribute work in the panel shop.
• Coordinate with purchasing on component requirements when necessary.
• Coordinate with Engineering when changes are required.
• Monitor and improve workflow on a continual basis.
• Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained at all times by enforcing Company standards and following up on regular inspections.
• Monitor the quality of product been produced in the area, instruct and train staff when changes / improvements are required.
• Work with the Testing/Quality department to schedule control panel testing.
• Ensure that all production related paperwork is monitored, controlled and completed.
• Be available and flexible to work overtime when required during the week and on weekends.
• Coordinate with production and planning to ensure efficient timeline for all products
• Any other duties as assigned.

• Supervise the performance of people in the Panel Shop area.
• Prepare training plans for the supervised personnel.
• Provide orientation and training as required to ensure an effective and efficient work force.

Knowledge and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum five (5) years' experience in a Control Panel Shop environment is required
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a supervisor is required
• Electrical Journeyman certified is an advantage
• Computer skills – experience with Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook, Excel and Word
• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
