Job summary

Cain & Associates seeks an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor to lead the electrical, instrumentation and controls function within a high-volume industrial manufacturing environment. The role supervises skilled trades, supports plant reliability and coordinates maintenance to ensure uptime and safety.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in industrial electrical/automation, proven supervisory experience, and strong PLC/HMI knowledge.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial electrical, instrumentation, controls or automation experience.
• Previous supervisory, lead-hand or front-line leadership experience in an industrial environment.
• Post-secondary education or recognized trade certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, Controls, Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, MCCs and VFDs.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation and automated manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise electricians, instrumentation technicians and contractors.
• Coordinate daily electrical and instrumentation maintenance priorities.
• Support troubleshooting of electrical, PLC, controls and automation issues.
• Oversee preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering and Maintenance to improve equipment uptime and reliability.
• Support maintenance planning, shutdowns and equipment upgrades.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure electrical work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures and applicable regulations.
• Coach and develop trades employees while maintaining strong accountability and performance standards.

• Shutdown planning and contractor coordination.
• Electrical or controls improvement projects.
