The City of Edmonton is seeking a Supervisor, Policy and Programs in the Assessment and Taxation Branch to lead a small team, analyze legislation and policies, prepare briefings, and coordinate tax-related programs.
You will develop risk registers, engage with other City departments and external parties, advocate for changes to the assessment and taxation system, and support a collaborative municipal finance operation.
The Assessment and Taxation Branch is responsible for the administration of Edmonton’s assessment and tax collection system, representing nearly 60 per cent of the City’s annual operating budget. The Supervisor, Policy and Programs is responsible for leading a small team that analyzes assessment and taxation legislation and policies, liaises with other City departments, prepares briefings and reports for senior leaders and City Council, and coordinates tax-related programs. You will develop and maintain a register of risks, build relationships with other City departments, help them understand how assessment tax impacts and impacted by their work, and help coordinate their access to assessment and taxation data. Additionally, you will support efforts to advocate to external parties, including the provincial government, for changes that would impact the assessment and taxation system. Work Environment: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52. The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.
Up to 1 Permanent full-time position Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week Salary Range:$51.611 - $65.218 (Hourly); $90,925.680 - $114,897.810 (Annually)
