Job summary

The City of Edmonton is seeking a Supervisor, Policy and Programs in the Assessment and Taxation Branch to lead a small team, analyze legislation and policies, prepare briefings, and coordinate tax-related programs.

You will develop risk registers, engage with other City departments and external parties, advocate for changes to the assessment and taxation system, and support a collaborative municipal finance operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Arts with related major (Economics, Political Science, Communications, English or Management).
• Four (4) years of progressive experience in a collaborative policy, communication, report writing, public speaking or public administration role.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience including work planning, performance evaluation and mentoring a professional team.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of three policy professionals, including delegating work and mentoring growth.
• Advise branch leadership on policy matters with policy acumen and expertise.
• Oversee program coordination using assessment and tax data, including the Affordable Housing Tax Grant and Retroactive Municipal Tax Relief.
