Job summary

Shawenim Abinoojii is seeking a Supervisor of Sacred Care to lead and supervise the Sacred Care program, ensuring high-quality care, staff development, and community engagement. The role involves program development, budgeting, reporting, and collaboration with the Director of Care to meet organizational goals.

The successful candidate will oversee staff, coordinate training, implement policies, and travel to communities as required while maintaining strong partnerships with First Nations

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education and/or extensive experience in the Human Services field.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Sacred Care staff; recruit and hire with HR, supervise and evaluate staff, manage attendance and leave.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and documentation for the Sacred Care program; monitor budgets and expenditures.
  • Coordinate professional development; source and approve training opportunities for staff; support training implementation.
  • Engage with community; build relationships with stakeholders; represent the Sacred Care program at events and meetings; travel as required.
  • Prepare program updates and reports; analyze monthly statistics for the Annual Report; develop on-call procedures.
  • Deliver presentations on the Sacred Care program and perform other related duties.

OVERVIEW:

The Supervisor of Sacred Care is responsible for the effective management and supervision of the Sacred Care program. This role involves leading a team ofprofessionals, developing program strategies, and ensuring the delivery ofhigh-quality care and support to Sacred Care homes. The Supervisor will also be responsible for program development, staff management, and maintaining positive relationships with the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managementof Sacred Care Staff
  • Identify staffingneeds and collaborate with with HR to recruit and hire staff.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to staff; conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary actions.
  • Organize and lead staff meetings; manage attendance and authorize leave.
Program Development and Oversight
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures and documentation for the Sacred Care program.
  • Conduct research to determine effective program models and strategies.
  • Participate in meetings with SECFS.
  • Approve and manage program budgets and expenditures.
  • Implement and monitor program evaluation measures.
Professional Development Coordination
  • Source and approve training opportunities for staff.
  • Support the implementation of training programs.
Community Engagement
  • Maintain positive relationships with community members and stakeholders.
  • Represent the Sacred Care program at community events and meetings.
  • Travel to community as operationally required and directed by Director of Care.
Reporting and Documentation
  • Prepare and submit program updates and reports.
  • Compile and analyze monthly statistics; contribute to the Annual Report.
On-Call Procedures
  • Develop and manage on-call procedures and schedules.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver presentations on the Sacred Care program as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondaryeducation and/or extensive experience in the Human Services field.
  • Significant supervisory experience.
  • Proven track record in program development and management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indigenous perspectives and First Nations culture.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The role will require occasional travel to community.
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • Satisfactory background checks (Child Abuse, Vulnerable Person, Criminal Record and drivers abstract).
