Summary

DMC is currently looking for a Supervisor, HRBP to join our team on a permanent basis, based in our Val Caron, ON office. The Supervisor, HRBP is responsible for leading a team of HRBP’s and administering the Company’s programs, policies and processes, presenting good governance. This position will be responsible for assisting our internal clients with fact based advice and best practices as a trusted leader in their profession. This role is a hybrid model in which you will be in the office and at the site.

Responsibilities

  • Build, establish, and maintain collaborative, credible, and trusting partnerships with employees and managers across departments and the organization to demonstrate the value of HR as a consistent, knowledgeable, and business partner.
  • Support initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement, retention, and development.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures across all supported departments and projects.
  • Contribute to process improvements and streamlining HR practices to drive efficiencies.
  • Support the company benefits and RRSP plans.
  • Maintain knowledge of employment legislation, internal HR policies and benefits.
  • Strong understanding and application of the Employment Standards Act and Ontario Labour Relations Act.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the managers on all HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, organizational design, rewards, and policy compliance, while ensuring alignment with company policies and employment laws
  • Handle escalated performance and productivity issues of a complex or sensitive nature, working with internal leaders to remove obstacles, ensure timely outcomes, and drive resolution.
  • Support change management efforts during organizational transitions.
  • Conduct and manage workplace investigations effectively and ensure proper documentation; escalate discipline recommendations when necessary.
  • Manage non-work-related leave processes including Short-Term and Long-Term Disability claims.
  • Provide proactive HR advice on the application of policies, procedures, and relevant employment legislation to ensure site compliance.
  • Develop and maintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual HR reports and records.
  • Other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in human resources
  • 2+ years in leading a small HR team
  • Experience in construction, mining and/or engineering is essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, database management.
  • Familiarity with HR software, databases, and management systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management (or related discipline).
  • Ability to work in a multi disciplined environment.
