The Infrastructure, Transportation and Parks Department is currently recruiting for a Temporary Full-Time Supervisor 2 (Turf, Trails and Cemetery).

In this leadership position, you will provide skilled supervision by coordinating, planning, directing, and participating in the tasks of crews responsible for turf management, sports field maintenance, trails, cemetery operations, and associated park maintenance activities.

Reporting to the Section Manager of Parks Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for the technical, supervisory, and administrative work involved in coordinating the maintenance and improvement of the City's turf areas, sports fields, park trails, and cemetery grounds. An incumbent is also responsible for coordinating and supervising the Parks Operations response to winter snow and ice events, including planning and assigning resources, monitoring weather and site conditions, establishing operational priorities, and ensuring safe and effective service delivery. In addition, an incumbent responds to public complaints and inquiries, resolves operational concerns within established policies and procedures, and provides technical advice and recommendations regarding turf management, trail maintenance, cemetery operations, and associated service levels.

You will also prepare cost and time estimates, monitor budget expenditures, and participate in the development of annual work schedules, operating and capital budgets, and long‑range maintenance plans. In addition, you will establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts, resolve service requests and complaints from the public and other City departments, prepare and maintain records and reports, and order materials and equipment.

You are known for your excellent leadership and supervisory skills and possess a demonstrated knowledge of safety procedures and processes.
