Job summary

InterPro Pipe and Steel is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a production team delivering premium tubular pipe products while upholding safety, quality and productivity. You will supervise staffing, training, coaching, and performance management to ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced mill environment.

You will coordinate pipe mill activity including hydrostatic testing, processing, grinding, beveling and shipping, while collaborating with Maintenance and QA teams to maintain reliability

Qualifications

• Post secondary training in a related field or a combination of education and experience.
• 1-3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
• Experience in tubular pipe manufacturing; ERW, HSAW an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supervises employees including hiring, training, coaching, development and performance management.
• Ensures a safe workplace including adherence to safety policies and procedures including risk assessments.
• Ensures compliance with the production quality assurance program and API.
• Ensures departmental metrics are met daily (safety, quality, productivity).
• Prepares a weekly labour schedule to meet production deadlines and requirements.
• Allocates resources such as consumables, tooling, equipment, and labour to support efficient operations.
• Collaborates with the Maintenance team to ensure operational reliability of machinery and tools.
• Liaises with QA team to ensure steel meets quality standards and specifications.
• Performs other duties as required.

• Liaises with Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure steel meet predefined quality standards and specifications.
• Performs other duties as required.
