The firm is looking to recruit a Supervisor, Portfolio Accounting. As a member of the Operations team and under the supervision of the Director, Accounting & Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing the portfolio accounting team and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data in the portfolio accounting system, both for clients managed via segregated accounts, and for clients managed via Letko Brosseau's investment funds.

Your Work Will Include

  • Supervise the portfolio accounting team and ensure the proper management of operations;
  • Responsible for the quality and completeness of the firm's portfolio accounting procedures;
  • Produce Letko Brosseau's investment funds’ financial statements, prepare the audit file and assist the external auditors.
  • Identify and implement improvements to streamline processes and increase process efficiency;
  • Coordinate the various tasks between team members, ensuring the sustainability of the department;
  • Hiring, ongoing development and performance reviews of portfolio accountants, and ensuring a healthy work climate;
  • Managing various projects related to portfolio accounting as required by the firm; and
  • Assisting the Director, Accounting & Finance in all other activities.

Profile Required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting;
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC), an asset;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position with personnel management;
  • Leadership based on openness, team spirit and respect, as well as commitment to the firm and its clients;
  • Experience in mutual fund accounting;
  • Advanced knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Excel;
  • Ability to identify situations requiring analysis or action, and to take charge of their resolution;
  • Ability to handle several files simultaneously, manage priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Thoroughness, attention to detail, concern for excellence and a job well done;
  • Critical thinking combined with excellent observation, analysis and synthesis skills;
  • Highly developed organizational skills;
  • Ability to work with numbers;
  • Autonomy, initiative and a strong sense of responsibility;
  • Discretion and respect for confidentiality;
  • Integrity and irreproachable professional ethics; and
  • Excellent knowledge of English and French, both written and spoken
  • The incumbent will be the point of contact with the various custodians and colleagues located in Montreal, Toronto and the United States.
