Job summary

Monarch House seeks a part-time Supervised Instructor Therapist to support clients with autism and developmental disabilities. You will implement treatment plans within an interdisciplinary team, working 8:30am–4:30pm ET, Monday to Friday, 2 positions available. Compensation is hourly and aligns with part-time models.

You will contribute to ABA programs, monitor progress with data, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for children and youth, both individually and in small groups.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in ABA, ECE, EA, Child and Youth Care or related field.
• Experience with groups of children in classroom, childcare, camp, therapeutic or educational setting.
• Passion for play-based learning through crafts, songs, games and structured programming.
• Experience developing communication, social, play, self-regulation and school readiness skills.
• Ability to plan, prepare, and adapt activities to diverse learning and behavioural needs.
• Strong classroom management to foster a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities in clinical and operational settings.
• Supports direct client programming and indirect classroom/clinic responsibilities.
• Demonstrates accountability, reliability and follow-through in team settings.
• ABA principles experience; supervision by a BCBA asset.

Take an inside look at what you will do each day

• Responsible for implementing treatment plans based on best practices
• Uses systematic methods and behavioural strategies to support client in changing their behaviour
• Contributes to the development of ABA programs established by the BCBA to teach and reinforce a variety of skills for children and youth in a 1:1 and/or small group setting
• Understand the functions of behavior and responding appropriately and safely when situations arise
• Adhere to all ABA training, procedures and protocols
• Ability to adapt to changing conditions and/or routine and provide creative solutions
• Responsible for creating a positive and engaging environment for the client
• Responsible for maintaining the well-being and safety of the client while under their care
• Responsible to track client progress through the collection of data and graphing while keeping clients engaged
• Assists in conducting baseline measurements and other indirect measures as instructed by the Lead Therapist/BCaBA/BCBA
• Responsible to complete incident report in Microsoft Teams as per regional requirements within 24 hours of an incident
• Prepares teaching materials and organizes teaching environment
• Documents/records exceptional circumstances, completes ABC logs, and tracks multiple behaviours
• Organize and maintain program binders foreach client to include documentation, data collection, and individual files
• Maintains workspace organization and cleanliness
• Support clients with personal care tasks such as dressing, toileting, and eating
• Responsible for completing indirect work under the direction of the clinician in the appropriate time allotted and framework expected

Here Is What You Will Need To Be Successful

• Diploma or degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Early Childhood Education (ECE), Educational Assistant (EA), Child and Youth Care, or another related field.
• Experience working with groups of children in a classroom, childcare, camp, therapeutic, or educational setting.
• Passion for creating engaging, play-based learning opportunities through crafts, songs, games, movement activities, and structured academic programming.
• Experience supporting the development of communication, social, play, self-regulation, and school readiness skills.
• Ability to plan, prepare, and adapt activities to meet the diverse learning and behavioural needs of children.
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Flexible and adaptable to shifting clinical and operational priorities.
• Supports both direct client programming and indirect classroom/clinic responsibilities (e.g., materials preparation, classroom organization, data collection, and documentation).
• Demonstrates strong accountability, reliability, and follow-through in both independent and collaborative team environments.
• Experience implementing ABA principles and behaviour support strategies is required; experience working under the supervision of a Behaviour Analyst is considered an asset
