Job summary

Salish Sea Industrial Services in Victoria, BC is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations across projects and worksites. Reporting to the Operations/Project Manager, you will lead crews, coordinate resources, and ensure high safety and quality standards on schedule and on budget.

The role requires 5+ years of supervisory experience in industrial or construction settings, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in supervisory roles in industrial or construction settings.
• Strong leadership, planning, and safety knowledge.
• Valid BC driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and oversee daily field operations across one or more active sites.
• Supervise, schedule, and mentor crews, foremen, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, and logistics to meet project timelines.
• Ensure all work meets quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and company health & safety policies.
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
• Liaise with clients, project managers, vendors, and other stakeholders to keep projects on track.
• Monitor progress, track costs and productivity, and report on key metrics.
• Identify and resolve operational issues proactively.
• Maintain accurate site documentation and daily reports.

Position Summary

Qualifications

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage crews
• Strong working knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and occupational health & safety practices
• Solid planning, scheduling, and organizational abilities
• Effective communication and problem‑solving skills
• Relevant safety certifications / tickets an asset (e.g., First Aid, Fall Protection, Confined Space, WHMIS)
• Valid BC driver’s licence and a clean driving record
• Ability to work on‑site and travel between locations as required
