Job summary

Amico Major Projects Inc. is a leading Canadian-owned construction firm seeking an experienced on-site professional to manage large-scale infrastructure projects in Ontario.

You will oversee field operations, coordinate with subcontractors, monitor schedules, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance on every site. The role requires a post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and at least five years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant capacity.
  • Working knowledge of contracts, industry practices and codes.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects run on time and to high standards.
  • Lead and coordinate on-site supervision and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Enforce health and safety protocols per regulations.
  • Supervise subcontractors and manage scheduling, inspections, and reporting.
  • Communicate project updates to Construction Manager and Project Manager.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordination of crews, suppliers and sub-trades.
  • Maintain daily site journals and tool/equipment monitoring.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring our projects run smoothly on time, and to the highest standards.
  • Contributing towards the success of major infrastructure developments through effective leadership and organizational skills.
  • Supporting on-site supervision of construction activities and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Assisting in coordinating daily on-site construction activities.
  • Enforcing health and safety protocols in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Supervising subcontractors and ensuring their tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Supporting scheduling, inspections, and reporting requirements.
  • Communicating updates regularly to the Construction Manager and Project Manager.
  • Assisting with scheduling and the coordination of suppliers and sub-trades
  • Assisting with scheduling and coordination of crews to sites.
  • Completing and maintaining daily journals/site records.
  • Monitoring tools and equipment on site for cost control.
  • Documenting and preparing work documents for submission to the client.
  • Reviewing and monitoring Amico and its Subcontractors’ deficiencies and required corrective actions.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma from a Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant capacity.
  • Working knowledge of contracts, industry practices and codes.
  • Must possess strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Problem solving skills and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe. Previous HCSS software experience is preferred.
  • Previous scheduling experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge / understanding of surveying & site layouts, grades, etc.
  • Experience supervising construction sites, ideally in infrastructure or civil works.
  • Knowledgeable about OH&S standards, and site safety practices.
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proven organizational and time-management skills.
  • Must be an effective communicator and team leader.
  • The ability to successfully apply a mix of technical expertise, team coordination skills, and attention to detail. These contributions will help deliver projects that meet expectations.
