Job summary

Amico Major Projects Inc., based in the Greater Toronto Area, is building Ontario’s critical infrastructure. This Project Coordinator role supports planning, scheduling, and on-site supervision across large civil projects, coordinating crews and equipment to meet tight deadlines.

Candidates bring post-secondary education in engineering or construction and 2–3 years of coordination experience, with BIM, AutoCAD and Revit proficiency.

  • 2–3 years of project coordination experience in construction.
  • Experience with BIM, AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Strong organization, time management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a healthy and safe work environment on site.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and execution of construction activities.
  • Assist with quality control and contractual specifications.
  • Prepare correspondence with owner and consultants.
  • Maintain plans, specs, costs, material estimates, subcontracts and reports.
  • Coordinate procurement of construction materials.
  • Ensure project cost requirements are met and coding procedures followed.
  • Expedites progress payment certificates and all change orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This role is based in the Greater Toronto Area and may require full-time, in-office and project site presence depending on project requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring that proper protocol is implemented by craft and all other personnel on site.
  • Assists in planning, scheduling, and execution of construction activities including supervision of crews and equipment.
  • Assists with quality control and specifications as per contract requirements.
  • Prepares correspondence with owner and consultants for review.
  • Maintains plans, specifications, costs, material estimates, subcontracts, and reports to ensure latest issues are distributed and communicated as required.
  • Coordinate’s procurement of construction materials ensuring timely delivery and accuracy of purchase orders.
  • Ensures project cost requirements are met and coding procedures are followed.
  • Expedites progress payment certificates, final payment certificates and all extra-work orders as per contract.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary education from a registered Engineering/Construction discipline.
  • 2-3 years of experience working as a Project Coordinator in the construction industry, preferably civil construction.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with BIM, AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Excellent knowledge of contracts, industry practices and work codes.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Ability to manage and facilitate numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, self-dedicated, and results oriented.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines, multitask and follow up.
