Job Title: Summer Youth Student - IT & Operations Assistant
Location:Sechelt, BC

Pay rate: $19.50/hr + 4% vacation pay (total pay $20.28)
Term start: June 9, 2025 –August 29, 2025
Working Hours: 30 hrs/ week

About theRole:

SCCSS is seeking a motivated and tech-savvy SummerStudent – IT & Operations Assistant to support our staff and operationsteam with day-to-day technology and facilities coordination tasks.This role isideal for someone starting their career, transitioning into the nonprofitsector, or on a summer student program. You’ll receive on-the-job training,mentorship and exposure to a wide range of administrative functions that arefoundational to any career path.

What You’ll Do

TechnologySuppor
t:

  • Provide in-person, phone,email, and virtual tech support to SCCSS staff across various sites.
  • Monitor and respond to ITsupport requests via the IT@sccss.ca helpdesk email.
  • Troubleshoot and assistwith commonly used software (e.g., Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, MSTeams, Zoom, Acrobat).
  • Support use andfunctionality of desktop/laptop computers, tablets, printers, scanners, andmobile devices (iPhone 13)
  • Configure devices andapplications, provide basic user training, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Document issue resolutionand maintain organized ticket records.

OperationalSupport:

  • Collaborate with theFacilities Manager and Operations Administrator to support office moves,relocations, and equipment setup (MAC tasks – Move/Add/Change).
  • Manage inventory andcoordinate software updates for IT equipment and peripherals.
  • Assist with internalcommunications related to operational updates and system maintenance.
  • Coordinate with externalIT service providers (e.g., Service First Total Solutions, contractors, andmobile service providers) to resolve technical or equipment-related issues.
  • Perform other duties asassigned.

What You Bring

  • Must be between the ages of 15 and 30 years.
  • Currently enrolled in apost-secondary program, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science,Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong communication andinterpersonal skills.
  • Ability to troubleshootbasic hardware/software issues with confidence.
  • Experience using MicrosoftOffice Suite, Outlook, Zoom, and MS Teams.
  • Organized, self-motivated,and able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Previous customer serviceor IT support experience is an asset.
