Job summary

MNP is seeking a Summer Student in Agronomy for 2027 (May 3 to August 27) across the Biggar/Rosetown/Plenty region, Regina region, and Brandon/Winnipeg region. You will gain hands-on field experience in precision agronomy, including scouting, data collection, and crop tours, while collaborating with an experienced agronomist to prepare field insights.

Ideal candidates are pursuing post-secondary education with an interest in agriculture, possess a valid Class 5 license, and enjoy outdoor work

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in post-secondary education. Agriculture is preferred but not required.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
• Willingness to work in outdoor settings and overtime during peak season.
• Strong communication skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field scouting visits for plant stand establishment, herbicide timing, and pest/disease checks.
• Perform plant stand counts and VR crop assessments.
• Assist with research trial analysis and data collection.
• Participate in crop tours and industry agronomy events throughout the summer.
• Convey key information from the field in collaboration with an experienced agronomist.

Make an impact with our Agronomy team as a Summer Student in 2027 from May 3 to August 27. Positions available in our Biggar/Rosetown/Plenty region, our Regina region and our Brandon/Winnipeg region. As a summer student you will have the opportunity to spend your time in the field learning applied Precision Agronomy.

Role Accountabilities And Responsibilities

• Conduct field scouting visits regarding plant stand/establishment, herbicide timing/efficacy, insect and disease management checks.
• Performing plant stand counts & VR crop assessments.
• Performing research trial analysis and data collection.
• Participate and help organize crop tours, as well as attend industry agronomy and product tours throughout the summer.
• This person will not provide any recommendations to our customers but will work in conjunction with an experienced Agronomist to convey key information from the field in order to help them do so.

Skills And Experience

• Currently enrolled in post-secondary education. Agriculture is preferred but not required.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
• Duties will require independent work within a team atmosphere.
• Willingness to work in an outdoor setting, along with overtime as needed during peak season.
• Strong communication skills are a must for this role.
