Job summary

The MNP Agronomy team invites a Summer Student for 2027, from May 3 to August 27, to gain hands-on experience in field scouting, crop assessments, and data collection across multiple service offerings. Regional placements include Biggar/Rosetown/Plenty, Regina, and Brandon/Winnipeg areas.

You will learn under experienced agronomists while contributing to real field work. Currently enrolled in post-secondary education, you will develop applied precision agronomy skills in a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in post-secondary education. Agriculture is preferred but not required.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
• Duties require independent work within a team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field scouting visits regarding plant stand/establishment, herbicide timing/efficacy, insect and disease management checks.
• Performing plant stand counts & VR crop assessments.
• Performing research trial analysis and data collection.
• Participate in crop tours and industry agronomy/product tours throughout the summer.
• This role supports an Agronomist by conveying field information to help with customer recommendations.

Role Accountabilities And Responsibilities

• Conduct field scouting visits regarding plant stand/establishment, herbicide timing/efficacy, insect and disease management checks.
• Performing plant stand counts & VR crop assessments.
• Performing research trial analysis and data collection.
• Participate and help organize crop tours, as well as attend industry agronomy and product tours throughout the summer.
• This person will not provide any recommendations to our customers but will work in conjunction with an experienced Agronomist to convey key information from the field in order to help them do so.
