Job summary

Hatch is seeking a highly motivated Structural Designer/Drafter Student to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Mississauga, ON for Summer 2027. Reporting to the Structural discipline lead, you will support projects globally from our Mississauga office with opportunities in other Hatch offices and at project job sites.

You will assist in producing and maintaining technical drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software, support layout development, perform clash detection, verify site conditions, and

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited technical College program specializing in Civil/Structural design.
• Familiarity with 2D and 3D structural design/drawing software packages.
• Background understanding of industry standards, regulations and codes pertinent to structural design.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Motivated with interest in developing technical skills.
• Commitment to safety in design work.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain technical drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Support conceptual layout work and development of design details.
• Perform clash detection and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Verify site conditions and dimensions as required.
• Incorporate safety considerations into design work.
• Collaborate with team to meet project scope, schedule, and quality requirements.
