Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our project delivery team in Mississauga, Canada. You will establish system requirements, perform analyses, define design criteria, prepare calculations, data sheets and reports, and contribute to 3D models and 2D drawings.

Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer or Project Manager, you will assist in scope delivery, interface management, and cost estimates, supporting design reviews and occasional site activities.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Professional engineer registration or actively working toward registration as a P.Eng./E.P.Eng.
• Minimum five years of project engineering experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulations and codes for mechanical engineering.
• Ability to coordinate mechanical activities across disciplines and support multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in defining project scope and deliverables.
• Support delivery of project requirements related to scope, cost and schedule.
• Perform system analyses, establish requirements, and define designs.
• Prepare engineering calculations and data sheets.
• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings and contribute to technical memos.
• Provide input to cost estimates and project specifications.
• Assist in design reviews, interface management and drawings stamping.
• Contribute to commissioning and on-site activities as needed.
