Job summary

Hatch Ltd. in Mississauga is seeking a 4-month Structural Engineering Student co-op starting May 2027.

You will support offices globally from our Mississauga location, assisting with drawings, calculations, literature reviews and design support for energy and industrial projects. As the successful candidate, you will use CAD tools including AutoCAD and MicroStation, contribute to progress reporting, and collaborate with diverse teams.

Qualifications

  • 3rd or 4th year Civil Engineering student aiming for a degree in structural analysis and design.
  • Enrollment in structural engineering courses is required or in progress.
  • Familiarity with CAD/Design software such as MathCAD, Excel, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, MicroStation and AutoCAD is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, design calculations, material takeoff, literature review, technical specifications, and reports for energy and industrial projects.
  • Use of CAD tools for 2D drawing and 3D model reviews.
  • Provide support for progress reporting and assessment of various ongoing engineering tasks.
  • Interface with staff to support project as necessary.

Hatch is currently looking for a Structural Engineering Student for a 4-month co-op starting in May 2027. You will support offices globally working from our Mississauga office location. Candidates should demonstrate an interest in the field of Structural Engineering to assist the Structural Discipline. The role is to provide review, analysis and design support, and research of material for the Engineers and other Technologists.

As the successful candidate, you will:

You bring to the role:
  • The successful candidate will be a 3rd or 4th year student working toward a degree in Civil Engineering with specific interest in structural analysis and design. Successful completion of, or enrollment in structural engineering courses is required.
  • Familiarity with CAD/Design software applications such as MathCAD, Excel, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, MicroStation and AutoCAD will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated writing and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
  • High regard for job safety and quality work; Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Extracurricular involvement; enthusiastic and ambitious.
Compensation:

Range: $26.00 - $34.00

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location.
