Placements24 seeks a Subsurface Geologist to join our client’s team in Kimberley to integrate seismic, well logs and core data, build robust subsurface models, and identify drilling targets for exploration and field development in a hybrid work environment.

The role requires a Master's in Geology, 4+ years in oil & gas, proficiency with Petrel and DecisionSpace, and strong sedimentology and basin analysis skills, plus good communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Subsurface Geologist, preferably in Oil & Gas exploration.
• Proficiency with geological workstation software (e.g., Petrel, DecisionSpace).
• Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, and basin analysis.
• Experience with well log analysis and core description.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret geological data from seismic surveys, well logs, and core samples to define stratigraphy and structure.
• Develop and update geological models for exploration and field development studies.
• Identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon traps and reservoirs.
• Collaborate with geophysicists and reservoir engineers to integrate subsurface interpretations.

Our client, active in the exploration and production side of the Oil & Gas industry , is seeking a knowledgeable Subsurface Geologist to join their team in Kimberley . This role is vital for understanding the geological framework of prospective basins, identifying drilling targets, and characterizing reservoirs.
