Job summary

Red Deer Public Schools invites applications for substitute teachers to support a range of subjects and levels, from elementary to high school. Substitutes are assigned to cover absences and to facilitate instruction, build relationships with students, and promote learning outcomes.

Applicants must hold an Alberta Teaching Certificate and provide a vulnerable sector screen; a current certificate is required for consideration.

Qualifications

• Must hold Alberta Teaching Certificate.

• Experience in classroom setting is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Fill in for regular teachers as assigned to maintain instructional continuity.
• Support student learning and follow prepared lesson plans.
• Collaborate with school staff to implement programmed lessons and classroom routines.

Substitute Teachers

Location: Various Locations in Red Deer

The successful applicants will have the ability to teach all subjects and levels including elementary, middle and high school.

The substitute teacher is assigned to work in the absence of a regular teacher to aid students in understanding a subject matter, as well as to provide skills required for programmed lessons and purposeful training for the classroom in which they are assigned.
