Prairie Land School Division is seeking dedicated and professional Substitute Teachers to serve our two Calgary-based Islamic schools, Al Amal Academy and Green Dome Islamic School, for the duration of the 2026–2027 school year. These positions offer the opportunity to work within a vibrant, faith-based learning environment that upholds academic excellence, Islamic values, and respect for diversity. The successful candidates will provide instructional coverage during teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning and a positive classroom atmosphere. Substitute teachers will follow established lesson plans, support student engagement, and maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. Assignments will vary across grade levels and subject areas as determined by the school principals.
Al Amal Academy, located in the Northwest community of Royal Vista and Green Dome Islamic School located in the Northeast community of Martindale, provide a well-rounded education that integrates Alberta Curriculum core academics with Islamic Studies, Arabic, and technology-based learning. Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching or substitute experience at multiple grade levels, as well as those who demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and a passion for student success.
Applicants must hold or be eligible for a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate, possess strong classroom management skills, and have the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
