Job summary

Sturgeon Public Schools in Alberta are seeking enthusiastic Substitute Teachers to support students across a wide range of grades and subjects. You will help maintain continuity of learning when regular teachers are away and adapt to different classrooms.

Applicants should hold a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate or be eligible for certification, have strong classroom management, and be able to build relationships quickly with students and staff. A current Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility for certification.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments.
• Demonstrated proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check, completed within the past 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Implement learning plans and classroom routines as directed.
• Establish positive relationships with students and school staff quickly.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and productive learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with school staff about student learning and daily activities.
• Adapt to a variety of grade levels and subjects.
