Alstom in Saint-Bruno, QC is seeking a Sub-System Project Planner to lead schedules and performance across engineering, procurement, and partners. This on-site role emphasizes delivering projects aligned with technical, contractual, and organizational requirements.

You will consolidate reference schedules, prepare planning reports, monitor deviations, and participate in schedule reviews with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent university degree.
  • Experience in project planning, preferably in an industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with planning tools like Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Strong data analysis using Excel or similar.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and planning methods.
  • Ability to work in multi-actor, multicultural environments.
  • Fluent in French and English.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, structure, and maintain project schedules per plan and standards.
  • Update schedules regularly with progress data from participants.
  • Collect, consolidate, and validate progress data (physical and calendar).
  • Analyze schedule deviations and identify risks.
  • Prepare planning reports and performance indicators.
  • Participate in schedule reviews and project steering committees.
  • Monitor deviations and alert teams proactively.

Could you be the full-time Sub-System Project Planner in Saint-Bruno, QC, we’re looking for?

This position requires an on-site presence three days per week. To make your life easier, shuttle services are available between Montreal and the St-Bruno site!

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your project planning expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic, collaborative, and detail-oriented teammates.

You’ll play a pivotal role in managing schedules and project performance, ensuring projects are delivered in alignment with technical, contractual, and organizational requirements. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, project management, procurement, partners, and suppliers), analyze schedule deviations, and propose action plans to optimize timelines and facilitate decision-making.

You’ll specifically take care of developing, consolidating, and maintaining reliable reference schedules, but also preparing planning reports and performance indicators.

Responsibilities
  • Developing, structuring, and maintaining project schedules in accordance with the schedule management plan and internal standards
  • Regularly updating schedules based on progress data and contributions from project participants
  • Collecting, consolidating, and validating progress data (physical and calendar)
  • Analyzing schedule deviations (delays, drifts, critical impacts) and identifying associated risks
  • Preparing and producing planning reports and performance indicators
  • Actively participating in periodic schedule reviews and project steering committees
  • Monitoring deviations and proactively alerting core project teams
All about you
  • Higher education (engineering degree or equivalent university degree)
  • Experience in project planning, ideally in an industrial environment (engineering, construction, transport, energy, etc.)
  • Proficiency in planning tools (such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent)
  • Good command of office software, especially Excel (data analysis)
  • Knowledge of project management principles and planning methods
  • Strong analytical skills and sensitivity to deadline issues
  • Ability to work in multi-actor and multicultural environments
  • Proficiency in both French and English is required
