Job summary

EnerCorp Engineered Solutions, LLC is hiring an experienced Sub Arc Welder for our Grande Prairie fabrication facility. You will operate SAW equipment to join pressure-retaining components, read WPS, and ensure the quality and traceability of every weld.

The ideal candidate has a Red Seal or equivalent, 2+ years of submerged arc welding experience, and hands-on knowledge of ASME/CSA requirements. We offer a safety-focused shop, competitive hourly wages, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement is an asset.
• ABSA Machine Welding Operator Certificate of Competency with CQ card required or eligible to qualify.
• Minimum two years of production submerged arc welding experience.
• Experience welding pressure vessels or heavy fabrication is an asset.
• Able to read fabrication drawings and welding symbols; document quality records.

Responsibilities

• Operate SAW equipment to weld pressure vessels and structural components.
• Set up equipment, fit-up, flux handling, and select welding parameters per WPS.
• Read fabrication drawings and welding maps; ensure compliance with procedures.
• Perform visual weld inspections and repair as needed; maintain traceability.
• Support NDE activities and assist with weld repairs as required.
• Maintain SAW equipment and handle consumables; keep workspace hazard-free.
• Complete hazard assessments and adhere to hot work and lockout/tagout rules.
• Mentor apprentices and participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement.
