Aspen Custom Trailers in Leduc, AB is seeking experienced metal fabricators who can perform metal core flat and horizontal GMAW. Read blueprints, interpret diagrams, plan cutting sequences and assemble components in a clean, safety‑conscious shop.

Qualifications

Read blueprints and diagrams.
Plan sequence of tasks and optimize steel cutting.
Determine materials and obtain from stock.
Develop or mark patterns as needed.
Use metal-working machines and torches to cut, drill, punch, roll.
Assemble and fit metal sections and plates.
Fasten components together.
Utilize welding and fabrication tools.
Maintain quality assurance and control.
Maintain safe and clean workplace.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams. Numerical conversions required.
Plan the sequence of tasks and decide how to cut the steel most efficiently.
Determine the materials required and obtain them from stock.
Develop and/or mark patterns if required.
Use metal-working machines and cutting torches to cut steel, drill or punch holes, and roll.
Assemble and fit metal sections and plates together to form complete units or sub-units.
Fasten components together.
Ability to use welding and fabrication tools.
Quality assurance and control.
Ensures effective equipment maintenance, safety and housekeeping standards are maintained.
Build and maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
Ensure that the overhead crane is used in a safe manner.

We are looking for experienced metal fabricators that can do metal core flat and horizontal GMAW.

Only candidates living in Leduc, Edmonton or surrounding area will be considered

Aspen is looking for new team members to add to our growing workforce. We continue to grow and have many openings. Apprentices wanting to become Welder / Fitters are welcome to apply. Two shifts available. Shift premiums. Large clean indoor shop with safe work practices. Be a part of a great team of long service employees. Just last year we celebrated 3-30 year anniversaries, 1-25 year, 3-15 year, 9-10 year and 9 5-year anniversaries. We have been in business for 45 years and have continued to grow each year.

Qualifications

Alberta Journeyman Metal Fabricator Fitter Ticket or Red Seal Certification
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
GMAW

Physical Requirements

Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs - fitness test required
Weld test required
Casual work clothes that meet safety requirements (Coveralls provided), PPE required (Steel Toe Boots, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection)
