Job summary

EnerCorp Engineered Solutions, LLC is seeking a skilled structural welder for our Grande Prairie/Clairmont shop. You will read weld plans, fabricate assemblies, and weld with Stick, TIG or MIG, while working both independently and in a team in a safety-first environment.

Qualified candidates bring welding experience, ability to work at heights, and a proven record of producing quality welds in a fast-paced setting. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3rd year apprentice or Journeyman certificate required.
• Minimum 2 years experience fabricating skids, handrails, stairs, platforms.
• Able to read welding blueprints and follow specs.
• Able to operate crane, bandsaw and oxy-acetylene torch.

Responsibilities

• Erect, join, cut and repair metal structures per orders and drawings.

Job Location: Grande Prairie - Clairmont, AB, Salary Range: $36.00 - $40.00Hourly

• Job type: Full-time
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, day shift, with overtime as required
• Location: Grande Prairie, Alberta (in person)

Duties and Responsibilities

A structural welder’s role is to erect, join, cut and repair metal structures as dictated by work orders, blueprints, technical drawings and other specifications. This individual must be able to work independently as well as a team to meet deadlines and to process current and future orders in a timely manner befitting the customer and the company.

• Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, designs, and welding process specifications.
• Examine welds to ensure they meet industry standards.
• Possess and execute welds to a high degree of accuracy.
• Secure and fasten components using clamps, braces, jacks and bolt straps.
• Inspect and evaluate welds to ensure they are free of defect and conform to set specifications.
• Employ appropriate welding methods in completing structural fabrications.
• Utilize manual and mechanical processes to weld in various positions.
• Apply Stick, TIG or MIG welding.
• Carry out welding operations under intense conditions such as extreme heights, confined spaces and inclement weather.

Qualifications: Competencies

Education, Training and Experience

• 3rd year apprentice or have Journeyman/Woman certificate.
• CWB an asset, but not required.
• Minimum 2 years work experience fabricating skids, handrails, stairs, and platforms.
• Able to operate an overhead crane, bandsaw, and oxy-acetylene torch.
• Prior experience with welding is required
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
• Ability to design and fabricate structural welds.
• Capable of working at heights.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Must be able to work singularly as well as in a team environment and have good communication skills.
• Must be mechanically inclined.

Physical and Safety Requirements

• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Ability to stand for entirety of shift.
• Repetitive bending, reaching, pulling, and lifting.
• Pushing and pulling wheeled carts weighing up to 1000lbs.
• Able to work occasional overtime or weekends.
• Must be able to see, hear and have full use of both hands and fingers.
• Work outdoors in all conditions.
• Must be Safety conscious.
• Able to follow proper protocol for incident reporting and emergency situations.
