Job summary

NVIT Nicola Valley Institute of Technology seeks a full-time Success Centre Planner for the Merritt campus to support learner engagement, success, and retention across the learner cycle. Reporting to the Manager of the Success Centre, you will provide trauma-informed, student-centred services reflecting NVIT’s Indigenous-centred education commitment.

Role involves collaboration with Success Centre staff, Elders, and Learning Commons, with occasional evenings and weekends during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, with 2 years relevant experience supporting individuals with diverse abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in workshop coordination, public speaking, and group facilitation.
• Committed to culturally safe, trauma-informed, student-centred practice.
• Knowledge of Indigenous languages and cultures; Indigenous lived experience is an asset.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
• Strong understanding of the learner cycle and its connection to student support.
• Experience facilitating inclusive learning and training for diverse learner groups; Universal Design for Learning.
• Excellent critical thinking, time management, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate accommodation and accessibility plans with the Success Centre Manager.
• Contribute to strategic planning for student support services and Success Centre initiatives.
• Support learners with retention alerts, health and well-being, and referrals to resources.
• Coordinate exam accommodations with faculty and staff.
• Develop and deliver workshops to support learner success and engagement.
• Collaborate with In-Community and external partners to share resources and supports.
