Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in Indigenous language revitalization within community contexts.
• Strong understanding of Indigenous cultural protocols and engagement with Elders and speakers.
• Experience coordinating community-based language programs and events.
• Ability to travel to communities for relationship-building and program support.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mentor-supported activities with first-language speakers.
• Organize community-based practicums or language project opportunities.
• Support capstone or community-driven language initiatives.
• Facilitate culturally grounded language events and Elder engagement.
• Maintain strong relationships with Indigenous communities and NVIT staff.
