POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor – Stores, and the technical direction and guidance of the Storekeeper II, receives and issues material in accordance with established procedures, and will transfer between stores.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receives shipments and withdraws required material from stock, ensuring required commodity, size and quantity; posts issues and items received to stock record account in accordance with established procedures
  • Maintains an inventory control system, ensuring that inventory is at approved levels
  • Reconciles computerized data with physical inventory
  • Processes orders and related paperwork for other divisions
  • Loads and unloads materials and supplies
  • Conducts general caretaking duties within all areas of the section
  • Operates forklift and van
  • Performs such other related duties as may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Experience
  • Must be a secondary school graduate or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Skills & Abilities
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Must be highly motivated and work well in a team environment
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner
  • Proficient in the use of computers and current related software
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class “G” Ontario Drivers Licence, or equivalent
  • Must meet the definition of a competent driver as defined by the Corporation
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Must remain a competent driver as defined by the Corporation
  • May be required to provide a successful driver’s abstract
