Oxford Learning seeks a Student & Parent Engagement Coordinator in Ottawa, Ontario. This full-time, in-person role bridges students, families, teachers and leadership to deliver exceptional learning experiences.

You will welcome families, conduct assessments, develop individualized learning plans, coach educators, monitor progress and prepare detailed progress reports. A university degree and bilingual proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• University degree in Education or related field is required.
• Fluency in both French and English (spoken, written, and reading) is mandatory.
• Experience in teaching or tutoring and working in an educational environment is preferred.
• Strong communication with families and ability to lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Welcome prospective families and introduce Oxford Learning programs.
• Build meaningful relationships with students and parents; conduct assessments.
• Develop individualized learning plans and meet with families to review progress.
• Teach students during after-school hours and coach teachers.
• Coordinate schedules and support centre operations; ensure teaching standards.
• Lead and mentor a team of educators; foster a collaborative culture.

About The Role

As the Student & Parent Engagement Coordinator, you'll serve as the bridge between students, families, teachers, and leadership.

You’ll welcome new families, conduct student assessments, develop personalized learning plans, coach educators, monitor student progress, and help ensure every child receives an exceptional learning experience.

No two days are ever the same. One moment you'll be meeting with a family to celebrate a student's progress, the next you'll be mentoring teachers, coordinating schedules, or teaching students and watching their confidence grow.

What You’ll Do

Student & Parent Engagement

• Welcome prospective families and introduce Oxford Learning programs
• Build meaningful relationships with students and parents
• Conduct student assessments
• Develop individualized learning plans
• Meet regularly with families to review progress and celebrate achievements
• Prepare detailed student progress reports

Teaching & Educational Leadership

• Teach students during afternoon and evening instructional hours
• Coach and mentor teachers
• Support instructional excellence across the centre
• Ensure Oxford Learning teaching standards are consistently maintained
• Foster a collaborative, positive teaching culture

Centre Leadership

• Coordinate student and teacher schedules
• Prepare the centre for daily operations
• Support the Centre Director with daily leadership responsibilities
• Help create an organized, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
• Jump in wherever needed to ensure students and teachers are successful

What We're Looking For

Education

• University degree in Education, Mathematics, Languages, Social Sciences, or a related field
• Fluency in both French and English (spoken, written, and reading) is mandatory

Compensation & Career Growth

Salary: From $20 – $22 / hour

• Six-month probationary period
• Performance review after six months
• Opportunity to transition into a salaried leadership position based on performance after probation
• Two weeks of paid vacation during the holiday season (once salaried)

Schedule (Non-Negotiable)

Because we're an after-school learning centre, our leadership team works when our students learn.

July – August

• Monday–Thursday: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
• Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

September – June

• Monday–Thursday: 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
