Specsavers in Barrie, Ontario, is seeking a Student Optician to help customers select eyewear and ensure each pair fits for comfort and style. You’ll work under a Licensed Optician, collaborating with retail and clinical teams to provide personalized advice and uphold Specsavers standards.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an Opticianry program with at least 2 years of customer service exposure, capable of thriving in a fast-paced retail setting, and available for weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an Opticianry program and eligible to work in Canada.
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience, preferably in optical dispensary.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and stay organized.
• Reliability and flexibility to work retail hours.
• Friendly, outgoing demeanor with the ability to provide knowledgeable product recommendations.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada; no immigration support provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with eyewear choices and interpreting prescriptions.
• Guide frame and lens selection for comfort and fit.
• Perform dispensing measurements using digital tools and ensure eyewear quality.
• Maintain knowledge of frames, lenses, treatments, and promotions.
• Handle after-care and resolve complaints effectively.
• Support contact lens recommendations as directed by management.
• Process third-party billing professionally.
• Coach team members in optical knowledge and skills.
• Assist daily store operations and uphold brand standards.
