Job summary

The University of British Columbia in Vancouver seeks a Business Solutions Analyst to lead high‑level requirements gathering and analysis for the Enterprise Student Information System, coordinating with UBC IT and Enrolment Services to align operational needs with IT initiatives.

The BSA acts as a liaison across units, guides business stakeholders, oversees testing and quality assurance, and delivers reports and analytics to support complex system changes across campus.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, plans and manages requests from faculties and service units for change(s) to the enterprise SIS applications, and collaborates with UBC IT and other ES units in developing project proposals for system implementations.
• Actively engages in systems projects, acting as a primary contact for IT partners; recommends appropriate stakeholder engagement and guides business stakeholders in participation and direction of systems implementations.
• Guides stakeholders in articulating business needs and how system integration can benefit them; communicates proposals, estimates and scope to stakeholders.
• Responsible for communications to the SIS user community for critical system updates, outages and developments in a timely manner.
• Monitors project progress and provides direction, training and feedback to project participants.
• Coordinates testing of developments and/oder improvements to the SIS and ensures quality assurance.
