Job summary

The University of Waterloo seeks a skilled Business Systems Analyst to provide functional analysis and lead development projects for student information systems and related integrations. You will support data-driven decision making and ensure accurate, timely information for Registrar’s Office units and staff.

You will collaborate with faculties, staff, and external partners, develop user stories and test scenarios, and guide large projects through various methodologies while upholding data

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or suitable combination of education and systems experience in a post-secondary environment.
• Completion of courses in Business Analysis or related discipline, CBAP certification would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provides business analysis for new problems or changing processes across Registrar’s activities.
• Works with stakeholder groups to interpret diverse requirements and facilitates negotiation.
• Creates user stories and test scenarios for development projects and conducts fit/gap analysis.
• Researches and supports implementation of new tools and self-service for students.
• Leads functional projects and partners with IST and other departments.
• Configures and maintains system upgrades, enhancements, and fixes.
• Builds strong relationships with RO staff and campus partners to drive service excellence.
• Delivers data interfaces and ensures data accuracy across systems (LEARN, Waterloo Works, OUAC, etc.).
• Plans training workshops and documents procedures.
