Job summary

iA Financial Group in Canada is seeking a Student – Data Analyst to transform data into actionable insights that support business decisions and continuous improvement.

You will work on KPI monitoring, dashboards, and ad hoc reporting, and contribute to automation using SQL, Excel, Power BI, or Power Query. Ideal candidates are pursuing studies in data science or analytics with strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing studies in data science, business analytics, actuarial science, CS, statistics or related field.
  • Interest in data analysis, reporting and solving business problems.
  • Strong analytical skills and rigor.
  • Proactive and able to work with Excel, SQL, and Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Extract, analyze, and interpret data to address business needs like KPI monitoring and trend analysis.

What You’ll Accomplish with Us

As aStudent –Data Analyst, you will be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:

  • Extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data to address concrete business needs, such as KPI monitoring, trend analysis, and management reporting;
  • Contributing to the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of dashboards, tracking files, and reporting tools;
  • Presenting results in a clear and simplified manner to support understanding and decision-making among stakeholders;
  • Participating in the collection, validation, and transformation of data required for recurring and ad hoc reporting;
  • Supporting the automation of repetitive tasks using tools such as SQL, Excel, Power Query, Power BI, or other relevant technologies;
  • Identifying and implementing improvement opportunities to streamline processes, reduce the risk of errors, and develop reusable solutions to efficiently address recurring business needs.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is currently pursuing studies in data science, business analytics, actuarial science, computer science, statistics, or a related field;
  • Stands out for their interest in data analysis, reporting, and solving business problems;
  • Demonstrates a high level of rigor;
  • Has strong analytical skills;
  • Is recognized for for being proactive;
  • Is comfortable working with tools such as Excel, SQL, or Power BI;
  • Has an intermediate level of English proficiency, as the individual will be required to conduct analyses in English and engage in daily email and videoconference communications with English-speaking colleagues on a daily basis.
