Job summary

Lethbridge Polytechnic in Alberta is seeking a Student Ambassador open to LP students for a casual appointment from September 14, 2026 to June 30, 2027. The role involves engaging with current and prospective students, both in person and online, to support student engagement and retention.

You'll conduct campus tours, assist registrar projects, handle data entry, and participate in events on weekends and evenings, while developing communication and interpersonal skills in a collaborative team

Qualifications

  • Completed one semester and a current Lethbridge Polytechnic student in good academic standing.
  • Ability to initiate conversations and build rapport through various means of communication.
  • Comfortable presenting in person.
  • Motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of social media is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Polytechnic Services and Programs is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct campus tours and share information about programs and services.
  • Support Registrar’s Office teams and projects, gaining perspective.
  • Handle data entry, reply to chatbot inquiries, and call campaigns to applicants and current students.
  • Work comfortably with a diverse student and visitor group.
  • Represent the student body positively at Registrar’s Office events.
  • Work weekends and evenings during events.
  • Provide peer support for incoming students.

About the Position

Join our team as a Student Ambassador. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with people and wants to be involved in student engagement in person and online. You are passionate about a program area of study and want to develop your communication and interpersonal skills. This opportunity contributes to student retention by delivering engaging initiatives for current students. You will also have opportunities to interact with prospective students by sharing your post-secondary experiences during recruitment events and tours.

Position Details
  • Build authentic connections with faculty, peers, current and prospective students and their families by conducting campus tours and providing information about Lethbridge Polytechnic programs and services.
  • Develop core competency skills by working with various Registrar’s Office teams providing support and a unique perspective on projects and events.
  • Conduct various office tasks including but not limited to data entry, replying to chatbot inquiries, and call campaigns to applicants and current students.
  • Be comfortable working with a diverse group of students and visitors.
  • Represent Lethbridge Polytechnic student body in a positive and respectful manner ongoing and at all Registrar’s Office events.
  • Be available to work weekends and evenings during scheduled events and tours.
  • Provide peer support for incoming students.

Salary

AUPE Class Level 1 Step 1 $16.25 per hour
