Job summary

Morskate Manufacturing Ltd. is expanding its Ponoka, Alberta facility and seeking a Stud Welder/Labourer to join a collaborative team.

You will weld studs, read drawings, grind and finish parts, and support welders while maintaining quality in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches and procedures.
• Strong understanding of metals and material properties.
• Accurate measurements and counting parts by eye and tool.
• Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs.
• Read/write/speak English clearly and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform stud welding duties and set machines for various stud sizes.
• Interpret drawings to determine measurements, layouts and welding steps.
• Grind and finish parts to specification.
• Inspect studs for proper welds and use measuring tools as required.
• Operate drills, grinders, power saws and assist welders as needed.
• Carry out labourer duties, keep work area clean and safe.
• Support overhead crane material movement when required.

Morskate Manufacturing is a family-owned structural steel manufacturer located just west of Highway 2 in Ponoka, Alberta. Position Summary

Morskate Manufacturing is expanding in a big way! We're adding 90,000+ sq. ft. to our facility and investing in exciting new technology as we continue to grow. With this expansion comes an exciting opportunity— we're looking for a Stud Welder/Labourer to join our collaborative team. The successful individual will be working primarily on agriculture product and equipment, with other tasks assigned as new needs arise.

Responsibilities

• Perform stud welding duties, ability to set machine to properly shoot various sizes of studs
• Analyze and interpret assembly drawings and sketches to determine measurements, layouts and sequence of welding steps
• Grind and finish parts to specification
• Adhere finished product identification and product finishing colored tag as per drawing
• Inspect and test studs for proper weld to material
• Accurate use of tape measure, square, levels, angle finder and other measuring tools related to specific area (in both Metric & Imperial)
• Operate drill presses, grinders, power saws and other hand tools
• Labourer duties, assisting welders, cleaning, sweeping
• Safe operation of overhead crane for material movement as required

• Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs.

We offer competitive starting wages beginning at $24-32 per hour, with final rates determined by your experience, skill level, qualification and how well you align with the role. We appreciate dedication and commitment, and we conduct thorough performance reviews after three months and annually to acknowledge outstanding work and support employee growth.
